LICENSED THERAPIST
LOCATION: Santa Fe, NM
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: This is a unique opportunity to serve on an inter-agency team of service providers in Santa Fe collaborating to provide home-based services and support to people who have become newly housed and may be experiencing housing insecurity. In most cases, service recipients will have a history of being unhoused or unsheltered, as well as physical and/or behavioral health challenges that may impact their abilities to maintain stable housing. The main goal of this position is to support stabilization of individuals/families served and prevent a return to homelessness. The LICENSED THERAPIST will be based at Casa Milagro, though will work closely with cross-agency team members from St. Elizabeth’s Shelters and Supportive Housing and The Life Link to provide home-based services to individuals/families who are newly housed. Casa Milagro provides Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) and Comprehensive Community Support Services (CCSS) to our resident community and serves as a key component of the Santa Fe area homeless response system. JOB DUTIES: ● Engage individuals/families where they are, which includes an understanding of trauma and its impacts on human behavior. ● Provide supportive behavioral health assessments and services to individuals/families housed at Casa Milagro and within other supportive housing projects throughout Santa Fe in accordance with rules/regulations as set for by the Behavioral Health Services Division (BHSD). ● Effectively use an electronic medical record program to capture client assessments, plans, and notes and to bill for services. ● Supervise non-clinical staff as they develop support plans in accordance with assessments. ● Be available for periodic on-call crisis support. ● Collaborate with Casa Milagro, St. Elizabeth and The Life Link staff and administration to develop and strengthen our collective ability to support housing stability, holistic wellness and mental health/addiction recovery for formerly unhoused individuals/families through individual and communal programming and support. ● Collaborate with physical and behavioral healthcare providers in the wider community to ensure residents served get the most appropriate healthcare possible on an ongoing basis. ● Refer clients to other local professionals who can assist them longer term with issues such as substance abuse treatment, mental health counseling, job training, or financial planning. ● Work with members of the cross-agency team to assess and support individuals/families’ housing stability and overall well-being and develop support plans. ● Participate in weekly cross-agency support services team meetings and individual supervision as necessary. ● Attend and participate in other community meetings as needed to build community-wide collaboration and enhance knowledge of local service providing agencies. ● Attend training and other professional development opportunities to enhance service delivery. This could include, though is not limited to, training on trauma-informed care, supportive housing, Motivational Interviewing, Critical Time Intervention, Harm Reduction, Solution Focused Therapy, etc. SPECIAL SKILLS: ● Effective oral and written communications skills with internal and external clients and stakeholders; ability to work collaboratively with team members and with multiple community agencies ● Ability to observe, assess, and provide clinical recommendations specific to client well-being and overall housing stability ● Two years experience providing therapy and clinical supervision strongly preferred ● Knowledge of trauma informed care and strategies for engaging the target population ● Skill in preparing, maintaining and overseeing client care ● Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency or crisis situations ● Ability to maintain confidentiality, quality and safety standards ● Computer experience, knowledge of or demonstrated ability to learn Access, Word, Excel and electronic medical records (EMR-Bear) ● Ability to solve unexpected problems as they arise while considering liability, precedence, programmatic implications and other possible future impacts on the program, services or organization ● Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels within the organization and with external stakeholders. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Licensed therapist or social worker in the State of New Mexico. Must be licensed at time of hire and continue licensure throughout employment. Active independent licensure (LPCC or LISW) strongly preferred 2. Experience providing individual or family therapy to clients with histories of housing instability and/or significant physical or behavioral health challenges 3. In the case of a recovering alcoholic/addict, he/she must have successfully maintained a two (2) year period of uninterrupted abstinence from alcohol and/or drugs 4. Must be computer literate in order to effectively maintain compliance standards and requirements for use of electronic medical records (specifically EMR-Bear) for all client related documentation and reporting 5. Must have and maintain current, valid NM Driver’s License. Must also have and maintain clean driving records, as well as auto insurance 6. Bi-lingual/bi-cultural preferred. (English/Spanish) TERMS, PAY, AND BENEFITS: Duration: Full-time (minimum of 30 hours); one-year commitment with high probability of continuation; Salary Range: Based on $32 - $42/hr pay rate DOE; plus maximum QSEHRA health reimbursement ($5,450/year; $454.16/month) and Paid Leave Time.
